The Camp Care-A-Lot Post High School Education Scholarship Fund

The Camp Care-A-Lot Education Scholarship Fund has been established to provide financial assistance to former Camp Care-A-Lot campers who will be or are already attending a post high school institution, including but not limited to trade schools, colleges or universities. These former campers may apply whether they plan on attending part-time or full-time. The amount to be awarded will be up to $2,500.00 per eligible student per semester. The awards will be directly paid to the institution of each student’s choice and may be used towards tuition, fees, and/or books.

We are asking for your assistance in locating former Camp Care-A-Lot campers in your school, disseminating the enclosed information and assisting eligible students in completing the application process. You may download the poster and/or download the scholarship application or phone John Woods, 217-546-4777 for these items to attract and inform possible candidates about this wonderful opportunity.

The following is the criteria to receive financial aid through the Camp Care-A-Lot Education Scholarship Fund:

• Must be a former CAMP CARE-A-LOT camper
• Must have no history of drug or alcohol abuse or gang membership
• Should be already accepted into a college/university or other post secondary education program

Students must provide Camp Care-A-Lot with the following:

• Completed application prior to deadline (listed above)
• Transcripts, including high school and/or college GPA with corresponding point scale.
• Three letters of recommendation from high school or college teacher/professor, and/or employer, clergy, youth organization advisor, etc. (Not family members).
• A 300-500 word essay entitled “What This Education Can Do For Me”.
• A list of extracurricular activities, if any.
• A list of volunteer or other community services performed, if any.
• Evidence of FAFSA Funding or Application for FAFSA Funds (if applicable)

** In addition each applicant will be required to meet with the Camp Care-A-Lot Education Scholarship Fund committee for a personal interview.
